Blessed....

Man, I really don't know where to start...I am thankful for so many things that I just want to list them all but quite frankly don't have the time.  I can't express how much my family means to me...My wonderful, wonderful, (oh...did I say wonderful?!) husband...he is the most amazing man and father to my children that I could have ever asked for.  He is not only smart, responsible, compassionate but most of all...loving....

Emma...you are turning into such a beautiful lady...yes you are quite a challenge to discipline and control most days, but man are you smart.  You are such a smarty you are too smart for your britches...you love your sister so much I hope it stays that way throughout your life.  You were excited for "turkey day...gobble gobble" and ate only the sweets!! (go figure, huh?) I would say your favorite part of the day was going through the black Friday ads with grandpa and "writing" your list down...which was about everything in the ads!

Isabelle...you are also turning into a quite demanding and beautiful lady as well.  You are so determined about what you want and don't want...you don't quite know the words yet to express what you would like...except, "eh, eh, eh (and pointing all in the same)" but you are quite a personality!  You are able to say..."please, mommy, cheese, out, eat, more (in sign language), ball, boo, boot, hi, bye, up..."  You are such a sweetheart and know you have mommy and daddy wrapped around your little finger.  You take your "cuddle" everywhere with you while sucking your thumb and what would we do without it?!

This is by far not an extensive list...There are so many people I know I am forgetting, but I am only human!  I am also SO thankful for my father, sister, in-laws...extended family, and last but certainly NOT least...my dear dear friends..you know who you are!! And of course...God and the beautiful memories of my mother...

Today we went to Grandma and Papa's for a great Thanksgiving dinner...mommy made deviled eggs and the turkey was delicious!  Daddy unfortunately worked...but we talked to him tho!  Emma was so excited to eat the turkey and when it finally was done, all she wanted was the desserts!!  Isabelle didn't eat anything except like 50 pickles...no joke...that is all she had for Thanksgiving dinner.  HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

I love you family...

Emma's quote of the day!

When Emma gets mad at us or doesn't want to do something she says...

"I'm going to huff and puff and blow your house down..." :-)

(Hey, if that is the worst she is going to say to us when she is mad...so be it!)

Good and Bad News

So, we went to the ENT for Isabelle's "issues" today...I have kind of mixed emotions.  So every doctor has just chalked her aspiration/penetration up to being refulx related.  Well...about 4 months ago the GI doc at Children's Mercy cleared us from reflux....mind you Isabelle has not been on reflux meds since that point.  So today we went to see the doc and he scoped her (Endoscopy) and said that her throat isn't normal but it isn't horrible.  It was something he expected to see in a toddler who has been aspirating/penetrating all her life.  He FINALLY gave her a diagnoses....Laryngomalacia....where her voice box is floppy...something we kind of knew all along but no one was willing to diagnose her with anything....BUT he put us back on Prevacid...relux medication.  I don't know why I am upset about this...probably because since the beginning no one wanted to give us the time of day and that was just the excuse they gave it to get us out of their hair...so here we are finally with a diagnosis and an answer, but back to the routine of meds...we will give this next 6 weeks a shot of continuing to thicken her feedings, seeing the OT, and maybe another swallow study in 6 weeks to see if she has improved....

Another Sunday....

I already am lagging behind...Thanks Jenn for being my first "commentor" :-)  I haven't posted in a week!!  Last week was fast...one conversation from Emma went like this...We were talking about who says what, like what animals say what sounds and this is what she said...

me: "What does mommy say?"
Emma: "I love you"
me: "What does daddy say?"
Emma: "I love you"
me: "What does Isabelle say?"
Emma:...."Mama".....lol

LOOOOOOONG Weekend!

So, this weekend flew by with a bang.  Yesterday work went very well; however last night I walked into my in-laws house and Emma was passed out (@ 730 mind you) on the couch.  I guess she had thrown up 2 times that day, had a 100.6 degree fever and looked miserable.  However the weird thing is is that she was playing outside in the leaves and acting fine until about 5:00pm and then she wanted her pj's on and just laid around the house until she fell asleep.  Isabelle was fine! :-) Oh, no! EXCEPT that her PaPa gave her a pringle, she choked on it (Yes, I was freaking out!) and then puked!!  It was NOT a good night!
When we came home Emma woke up in her carseat and matter-of-factly told me, "I didn't eat" and kind of shrugged her shoulders...it was so cute!! Then she fell back asleep! Poor girl!

Oh Sunday....why do Sunday's have to usually be so bad at work?!  I admitted 4 babies and 2 went home...one of the babies were so sick...I don't know what I would do without my co-workers.  They truly make or break the day!  They were all so helpful that I can't thank them enough!

My beautiful princesses are in bed (I don't think Emma is asleep), they had a great day with grandpa and Emma is feeling better! No fever all day!  I don't know what was yesterday, but I am glad she is better!

Great Fall Day!

These past 2 days have been fabulous, actually. Yesterday my husband and I spent most of the day with 2 fabulous friends; Malydia and DaLaena and their kiddos. We got to play outside and the kids LOVED to jump in the leaves! Pics to follow...

Last night we went to The Great Mall and met up with our good friend DaLaena and her family...FINALLY got to meet her husband Matt (like, seriously it had been almost 6 months and I never met him!)

Today was me alone with the kiddos, Mark worked. We had a houseful of company! D came over for a little while in the morning, then M and my friend Kathy came over during lunch time. I believe the kids had a blast! I dropped the kiddos off at the in-laws this afternoon and was all by myself tonight!! I met up at Barley's Brewhouse with my friend Sharon and we had a couple drinks...and fried pickles and creme brulee (sounds like were prego, right?? :-) It was a wonderful evening and we both had to chuckle because I was ready to go to bed by 8:00pm and she was heading to Toys R Us...so we are here...1. no husbands 2. no kids 3. home all by ourselves and we didn't even stay out late!! Gosh, we are getting old!

Trying to get used to this!

So...I was at work this weekend and a few of my friends convinced me to get started on this thing again...we will see how it goes!!  I guess what I don't know is what to write and just think..."well who really cares about my life??"

So in my life today Emma has been extremely in a funk!  I don't know what else to do with her, but she is just not listening to anything that I say!  I was once told that when a child reaches their "half - age" they go into a disequilibrium...and then when they reach their "whole" age they kind of mellow out.  She is just a hand full!  Isabelle or Izzy Bizzy as I may call her is just such a sweetheart (for now).  She is 17 months now and a bundle of joy!  She doesn't speak much, but she does sign the word "more" and can say mama and dada...other than that it is just about "eh, eh, eh...etc" She is very petite and I mean in the 1% petite and 48% for her height!!  She is tall and little, but very mighty!  She has been through so much that I just look at her in amazement...she recently had another swallow study and is still unfortunately aspirating her liquids.  She is on nectar consistency liquids and may soon regress to syrup consistency liquids in about a week if she doesn't shape up! :-)

Halloween was awesome...I was at work and made it for about the last 2 houses.  They were all dressed up and so beautiful! The picture above is at the end of the night...with their wagon and lanterns and had such a blast!  I just can't imagine life without them and how everyday I am thankful for my family.  They are my world...
